Rail Trail Ride to Purple Cow (3)

Overview

We invite you to join us on a group bike ride for ice cream! We will depart from campus and take the rail trail to the Purple Cow Ice Cream Shop. It is 4.6 miles on flat paved and gravel trail one way; about 10 miles round trip. The ride is beginner friendly! A bike, helmet, bike lock, and ice cream are included. 

Location

We'll first meet at our Basecamp on Bucknell's campus. From there we'll ride over to the Purple Cow via the rail trail.

Field Session: 

• 4:00 PM - Meet at our Basecamp on Bucknell's campus.
• 4:15 PM- Depart on our bike ride.
• 5:45 PM- Arrive at the Purple Cow. Enjoy ice cream!
• 6:15 PM- Depart from the Purple Cow and head back to campus.
• 6:45PM- Arrive back on campus.

What's Provided?

• Bike, bike lock, and helmet
• Ice cream at the Purple Cow
• Snacks before the ride 
• A small backpack 

What To Bring

• Clothing that's comfortable to bike and move in (e.g. athletic type clothing and/or synthetic pieces, etc.)
• Water bottle
• Sunglasses

*Participants should have some prior experience riding a bike*

Cost

This trip is complimentary (FREE / NO COST) to Bucknell students.

Registration Information

This trip is open enrollment to all current Bucknell students. A Bucknell ID number is required to register.

Cancellations & No Shows

OEL Trips & Outings provided to Bucknell students have limited capacity. If a student signs up and doesn’t show for the program, it’s disruptive for everyone involved and takes away from other student’s experience.

We understand that things come up and life happens. We get it. We simply ask that you notify us at least 48 hours after your pre-trip meeting (approximately 1 week in advance of a trip) and let us know of your cancellation. You can do this by going back to our Portal and clicking on the “CONTACT” button in the upper right of the screen.

Failure to contact us of your cancellation in this predetermined timeframe is noted by the OEL Admin Team. After 3 instances (not showing up or cancelling less than a week prior to the trip 3 times), a student will not be allowed to register for future OEL Trips & Outings here at Bucknell.
