Rock Climbing Memorial Park
Located between the Gateway Apartments and the Grove, the outdoor bouldering park offers the Bucknell community a fun and exciting venue for rock climbing. The outdoor bouldering park consists of two large boulders that host an array of climbing holds and natural features for all skill levels.
Douglas Hall, class of 1991, was an avid climber and outdoor enthusiast. He graduated from Bucknell with a degree in engineering, and moved to Colorado to work for Black Diamond, and then as a photographer. Doug Hall was killed in an avalanche while climbing the notorious Fang Route in Provo Canyon, Utah in 1997. He left behind a legacy of adventure, a list of first ascents, and an adventurous spirit that OEL is honored to remember and celebrate through this climbing facility.
This facility is a generous gift from his parents, Gerry and Nancy Hall, as well as many friends of Doug’s.
Bouldering Park Policy

Douglas B. Hall ‘91 Rock Climbing Memorial Park is open to Bucknell community members only.

The park is open from dawn to dusk.

Under 16 years of age requires adult supervision.

Climb at your own risk.

Be aware that you may lose your grip or footing, or that holds may break or spin, resulting in a fall. Falls from any height can cause serious injury or death.

Keep the climbing zone clear of personal items.

No alcohol, drugs, or use of space while intoxicated.

Contact public safety at 570-577-3333 to report unsafe conditions, damage or to seek assistance.

If you are unfamiliar with any aspect of bouldering, or landing a controlled fall, seek qualified instruction or appropriate supervision.

Watch out above and below. Don’t interfere with other climbers on the wall and check your descent route or fall zone when exiting.
