Overview

We invite you to come top rope rock climbing on the beautiful quartzite cliffs of Mocanaqua, PA which is located about 50 miles east of Bucknell University.  All experience levels are welcomed! This trip will be lead by OEL professional staff and is designed to educate new and experienced climbers alike.

Location

​

We'll first meet at our Basecamp on Bucknell's campus. From there we'll commute over to Mocanaqua to spend the day climbing and enjoying the outdoors.

Schedule

​

-8:00 AM - Meet at our Basecamp on Bucknell's campus.

-8:30 AM - Depart for Mocanaqua. Enjoy day of climbing.

-5:00 PM - Arrive back to Basecamp.

What's Provided?

-Hiking gear (trekking poles, rain jacket/pants if needed, etc.)

-Personal climbing gear (helmet, harness, belay device, climbing shoes if needed)

-All group climbing gear (ropes, anchor material, etc.)

-Sunscreen & bug spray

-Transportation to/from

What To Bring

​

-Clothing that's comfortable to hike and camp in (e.g. athletic type clothing and/or synthetic pieces, etc.)

-Rain jacket (just in case)

-Warm jacket and pants

-Hiking boots or a pair of sturdy sneakers (trail can get slippery)

-Small backpack

-1-2 water bottles

-A hat

-Sunglasses

-Personal lunch and snack food for the day
